Private exhibition
To mark the 5th birthday of digital agency i-level, two artists (myself and the photographer Paul Debois) were invited to use their elegantly proportioned Victorian offices in the heart of Victoria to exhibit in. As the theme of the company's ball is 'Now we are 5', I displayed three foil card prints on the theme of playtime, a large canvas of an abstracted child's face (see Alfie in the gallery) and some figurative studies and a landscape for their galleried upper level.
Art in the work environment is something more employers are switching on oto. A bit like the water cooler, art refreshes and provides a talking point. Office walls can be bleak and unimaginative, well-chosen art can encourage tranquil or dynamic frames of mind and employees generally appreciate that their visual surroundings have been considered!
